Leave the M6 at junction 36 and follow signs for Barrow on the A590. Follow the road through Ulverston (straight ahead at two roundabouts) and continue through Swarthmoor.
Immediately after Swarthmoor you will come across two sets of junctions, the first of which has a memorial cross on your right hand side. Pass by this junction and carry on to the second. Turn left at this crossroads. Continue down this road for 1¼ miles, passing a crossroads and soon after Urswick Tarn on the left hand side. The General Burgoyne is situated on your right- you can't miss it!
